CME at TexMed: Practice Help

Gain valuable knowledge to enhance your practice as part of the CME offerings at TexMed 2022, the Texas Medical Association’s largest annual conference, April 29-30 in Houston. You can attend TexMed virtually or in person.

TexMed features two keynote presentations and more than 50 hours of CME. All conference sessions are listed in the 2022 CME Schedule and segmented into six key tracks, including leadership, practice help, and population health.

Some of the practice help CME opportunities are:

Adding Advance Care Planning to Your Clinical Workflow
Speaker: Desh Mohan, MD, Houston internist and hospitalist, and chief medical officer of Koda Health
Summary: Only 7% of patients report having dedicated advance care planning conversations with their physicians. COVID-19 has dramatically increased the number of patients at risk, and helping patients proactively navigate this process is critical. Learn how to easily add these conversations in your current practice of care, and how to bill and document for these services.

Medical Practice and the Transition to Retail Health Care Delivery
Speaker: David Mackey, MD, professor of anesthesiology and perioperative medicine at MD Anderson Cancer Center
Summary: The U.S. health care system is rapidly transitioning to a competitive retail health care delivery environment. Explore the commoditization of certain elements of care delivery; the benefits of direct contracting with businesses for care delivery; the impact of price, access, and marketing on market share; and the vulnerability of “traditional” academic institutions.

As always, TexMed is free for TMA members. Register today to join your physician colleagues.
