TMA Foundation’s annual gala is being planned to take place safely on Friday, April 29, 2022, during TMA’s TexMed in Houston.
This year’s theme, Crossroads of Culture – Houston: The Most Diverse City in the U.S., recognizes the ethnic and cultural transformation in Houston over the past 50 years. Your ticket purchase or table sponsorship will support TMAF-funded initiatives that reflect TMA’s vision: To improve the health of ALL Texans.
“Few state medical associations have a philanthropic foundation that provides so many ways for members and their families to improve the health of their community,” said gala co-chairs Clifford Moy, MD, and his wife, Diane. “We’re privileged to play a major role in helping TMAF reach its fundraising goal this year.”
TMAF funds programs that work to reduce health care disparities through scholarships to minorities underrepresented among Texas physicians and community grants that help underserved Texans with their health care needs.
“We’re extremely proud to serve as TMAF gala co-chairs,” said Carla Ortique, MD, and her husband, the Honorable Morris Overstreet, “and to help raise funds that enable even more funding for programs that expand access to care for all Texans and address health disparities.”
This gala fundraiser helps make TMA’s population health, science and quality-of-care programs possible. Already this year, TMAF has supported numerous initiatives around the state that provide free health screenings to medically disadvantaged Texans, vaccinate underserved individuals, educate students with science-based learning materials and more.
