Participants in the Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive/Promoting Interoperability (PI) program have only a few days left to attest to meeting the program requirements. Don’t wait until the last minute.
This is the final year for the program, and this year’s deadline is earlier than previous years’ because of strict federal requirements for sunsetting the program in 2021. The deadline to submit your attestation to qualify for an incentive payment is Aug. 1. All incentives must be paid by the final day of the year.
Attestation is considered complete after you submit it and receive either a “payment pending” or “in review” status. All participants are required to be using 2015 Edition Certified EHR Technology and attest to Stage 3 meaningful use/PI objectives and measures. Participants must report on data collected for required measures over any continuous 90-day period during calendar year 2021 up until Aug. 1.
The Texas Medical Association encourages you not to procrastinate on submitting your attestation. The state won’t grant any deadline extensions this year for any reason.
