  • Significantly More Vaccines Delivered: Texas will receive a substantial spike in vaccine doses this week, thanks in large part to a 30% increase in the number of Moderna doses from the federal government and a one-time return of 126,750 doses of the Pfizer vaccine that Texas was required to set aside, health officials said. Overall, 344 facilities will receive 520,425 first doses of COVID-19 vaccine, up from the 332,750 doses delivered last week, the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) said. “That includes 82 hub providers that will focus on larger community vaccination efforts.” Also this week, the state ordered 188,225 doses intended as the second dose, DSHS said.
