The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued Emergency Use Authorizations (EUA) for COVID-19 vaccines manufactured by Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna, both of which are being distributed to select health care facilities and pharmacies throughout Texas.
Although both vaccines are administered in two doses that are injected intramuscularly several weeks apart, each has specific requirements for storage, handling, preparation, and more.
