The Physicians Benevolent Fund: Make A Difference In a Colleague’s Life

Suicide_Prevention

The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic this year remind us of the importance of family, especially during the holiday season.

Help your colleagues and their families have a place to turn when they need it most with a gift to the Texas Medical Association’s Physicians Benevolent Fund

Since 1961, the fund has provided assistance to Texas physicians and their families who have fallen on hard times because of poverty, sickness, disability, accident, or other circumstances.

Your donation to the fund provides:

  • Financial help for physicians and their families who cannot afford basic household necessities: Since its beginning, the fund has given more than $3.9 million to 750 physicians. A portion of these donations fund TMA’s health and wellness CME.

  • Temporary financial assistance for qualified physicians: The PBF Wellness Program helps licensed Texas physicians who cannot afford basic living expenses during treatment for concerns that may affect their ability to practice medicine safely.
  • Disaster relief funding for physician practices. Since 2005, 138 Texas practices and their 293 physicians have received more than $1.4 million from PBF Disaster Relief to reestablish patient care in federally declared disaster counties.
