Watch Your TV for an Important TMA Reminder to Your Patients

Texas Medical Association physicians – and a very important message to your patients – are coming to a television station near you.

TMA in May produced a public service announcement (PSA) to remind patients to seek treatment for any medical conditions – including COVID-19.

The PSA features six physicians from different specialties and different parts of the state repeating a simple message: “I’m here.”

TV stations in your city have told TMA they plan to air the PSA.

According to a TMA survey in May, many patients have avoided seeing their doctors for routine or even urgent care, in fear of COVID-19. Physicians are concerned about potential long-term effects on people’s health if they don’t tend to their health care needs, the survey shows.

Watch the video above and please post it on your social media pages to help spread the word. You also can share it from TMA’s Facebook and Twitter pages.

In addition, TMA’s COVID-19 Resource page includes posters and tools to inform your patients and staff about staying safe, including a COVID-19 social media toolkit, and a minimum standards of safe practice notification required by the Texas Medical Board.

The resource page is updated frequently with new information and resources, so check back often.
