Walk With a Doc Goes Virtual During Pandemic

Although it’s recommended people stay in their homes to slow the spread of COVID-19, going for a walk or a run is still encouraged as a way to stay healthy.

In this time of social distancing, Walk With a Doc, a national organization that promotes physicians walking within their community, is still going strong with virtual walks.

Every Saturday morning, Walk With a Doc headquarters will post a video on its website of a virtual walk. Organization leaders from around the world, including Texas walk leaders, will share updates on COVID-19 and other important health topics as they stroll.

There are several ways you can participate:

  • Visit the website to check out the most recent video;
  • Click Here to receive each week’s video via email;
  • Watch all virtual events on YouTube; and
  • Of course, just walk (but stay at least six feet away from other walkers).

Find more information about Walk With a Doc Texas on the Texas Medical Association website. TMA is one of the nation’s leaders in sponsoring physicians who want to become walk leaders.
