Improve Your Overall Wellness With TMA’s Help

If your goal is to improve your wellness this year, the Texas Medical Association Committee on Physician Health and Wellness can really help.

The committee has created online courses, toolkits, and free exercises to encourage health and well-being for physicians, residents, and medical students.

And be sure to save the date for the Physician Health and Wellness Exchange, to be held at UT Health San Antonio on Saturday, Oct. 24. Registration coming soon.

Attend the PHW Exchange to explore how to create and promote a culture of wellness for physicians, trainees, medical students, health and wellness providers, academic medical center faculty, and staff in Texas.

Activities will include educational programming, a cardiovascular workout and workplace station exercise session, and a luncheon discussion.

In addition:

  • All registrants are invited to attend a workgroup that will help students draft a resolution regarding well-being to be submitted to the TMA House of Delegates during TexMed 2021;
  • You can submit an abstract for a poster session that highlights best practices or areas that need improvement for addressing health or wellness needs in academic settings. Abstract submissions will be accepted beginning March 9.  To check your eligibility and learn more, visit
  • If you are passionate about the well-being of your colleagues and enjoy public speaking, attend a training session designed to help you improve your performance when giving presentations.
