Regarding MedCom Telephone Answer Services

An open letter to all TMA members:

Recently a third-party advertiser, which identified itself as MedCom Telephone Answer Services (MedCom), breached its contract with Texas Medical Association for TMA’s advertising services. TMA’s advertising services for MedCom included distribution of marketing materials, specialty promotional items and onsite marketing, along with placement of MedCom’s advertisements in TMA’s publications distributed to TMA’s members and the community. TMA promptly terminated the contract and stopped providing all services for MedCom. TMA also pulled all of MedCom’s advertisements from TMA’s pending publications and ceased distribution of MedCom’s marketing materials and promotional items.

As a reminder, third-party advertisers pay a fee to TMA for TMA to publish their advertisements and market their materials. While TMA does have a screening process for third-parties seeking to pay TMA to publish advertisements or create marketing materials, TMA does not have control over third-party websites or the information, goods, or services provided by third parties. TMA does not endorse any third-party advertisers or any of their information, goods, or services unless specifically stated in the advertisement.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding third-party advertisements or marketing materials published or provided by TMA, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Rocky Wilcox, JD
Vice President, General Counsel
