Is the PMP Working for You?

The Texas Medical Association, in collaboration with the Center for Health Communication (CHC) at The University of Texas at Austin, invites you to share your expertise on using the Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) to help care for your patients.

(The PMP is the new name for the old prescription drug monitoring program or PDMP.)

The CHC team will attend our Winter Conference to film a series of videos featuring physicians discussing:

  • Integrating the PMP into your workflow, including using delegates;
  • Talking with patients about the PMP; and
  • Using the PMP to make better clinical decisions.

Please contact Susan Kirtz at susan.kirtz[at]austin[dot]utexas[dot]edu if you have questions or are interested in being featured.

TMA’s Winter Conference is scheduled for Jan. 25-26 at the Hyatt Regency Austin. Online registration is still available.

The Center for Health Communication is a joint academic center in the Moody College of Communication and Dell Medical School. The CHC is funded by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission to promote physicians’ use of the PMP, with the ultimate goal of preventing prescription drug misuse.
