San Antonio Executive Rejoins TMA Foundation Board

The Texas Medical Association Foundation (TMAF) announces Craig Norman, RPh, will return to service on the TMAF Board of Trustees this fall. He will serve a three-year term through May 2021.

TMAF, the philanthropic arm of the Texas Medical Association (TMA), raises funds to support the population health, quality-of-care, and science priority initiatives of the association and the family of medicine. TMAF raises funds and connects medicine, business, and community groups that carry out these programs locally and statewide. The TMA board approved Mr. Norman’s appointment during the TMA Fall Conference in late September.

Mr. Norman, a pharmacist and senior vice president for H-E-B, is a member of several professional pharmacy organizations; and serves on the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) Dean’s Advisory Council, The University of Texas College of Pharmacy Advisory Council, and the American Cancer Society’s South Texas Area Board. He is rejoining the TMAF board after having been a member in 2008-11.

Mr. Norman received a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy in 1983 from UMKC and has attended many executive development programs over the years including the Executive Leadership Program at Seattle University’s Albers Graduate School of Business in 2005.

He and his wife, Dana, of 33 years reside in San Antonio and have two children, Zack and Holly, both of whom are in college.

TMA is the largest state medical society in the nation, representing more than 51,000 physician and medical student members. It is located in Austin and has 110 component county medical societies around the state. TMA’s key objective since 1853 is to improve the health of all Texans. The TMA Foundation raises funds to support the population health, science, and quality-of-care priority initiatives of TMA and the family of medicine.
