Humana Physician Portal to Retire in October
By Ellen Terry

1.30 EHR vendor

Humana will shutter its secure provider portal on Oct. 3. To continue or begin working with Humana online, prepare now by registering for the Availity Provider Portal if your practice doesn’t already have an account.

Refer to this quick reference guide for registration tips, or take a free webinar about the Availity portal.

  • Not sure if you have an account? If your practice’s tax identification number (TIN) is already registered, the registration results screen will give you a contact number and customer ID to help you identify your Availity administrator.
  • If you don’t have an account, designate a staff member as an Availity administrator to register for a new account. This should be someone with the legal authority to sign agreements for the practice, or that person’s designee. The administrator then can add users for the practice and maintain its access permissions

Humana will continue to make many resources available to physicians without a user ID and password on Humana.com/provider. To learn more, visit Humana.com/providerselfservice

Request Radiology Preauthorizations Online

When you request preauthorization for your Humana patient’s diagnostic imaging (e.g., CT scan, MRA, MRI, nuclear stress test, PET scan, or SPECT scan), the benefit management company HealthHelp performs the review through its Consult Online service. Take this tutorial to learn how to request, schedule, and follow up on imaging services and treatment plans with Consult Online. For more information, email Consult Online at RCSupport[at]HealthHelp[dot]com or call (800) 546-7092.
