El Paso Physician Reelected to Represent Texas at AMA

Roxanne M. Tyroch, MD, an El Paso internist in practice for 23 years, was reelected to represent Texas doctors as an alternate delegate in the American Medical Association (AMA) House of Delegates, the national organization’s policymaking body. The Texas Medical Association (TMA) House of Delegates elected Dr. Tyroch today in San Antonio during TexMed, TMA’s annual conference.

Dr. Tyroch, who practices as a hospitalist, serves as a member of TMA’s Council on Legislation. She also is president-elect of the El Paso County Medical Society, and represents the county society in TMA’s House of Delegates.

As part of the Texas delegation to AMA, she helps make policy recommendations to the national body on behalf of Texas doctors.

TMA is the largest state medical society in the nation, representing more than 51,000 physician and medical student members. It is located in Austin and has 110 component county medical societies around the state. TMA’s key objective since 1853 is to improve the health of all Texans.
