215.002 Family Planning and Sexually Transmitted Disease Prevention for Institutionalized Individuals


Family Planning and Sexually transmitted Disease Prevention for Institutionalized Individuals: All adolescent and adult persons who are institutionalized at facilities of state, county, and municipal governments, should be given full information and access to screening tests as feasible on family planning and prevention of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections prior to their discharge from the facility. The information should be consistent with the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance for correctional settings and be communicated in a form that is appropriate for the cultural, linguistic, mental, physical, and developmental status of each person (CM-Sexually Transmitted Diseases, p 116, I-90; reaffirmed CM-ID Rep. 2-I-00; amended CPH Rep. 3-A-10; amended CM-ID Rep. 1-A-13).
