105.006 Confidentiality of Patient Records


Confidentiality of Patient Records: All patients should be assured that the information contained in their medical records will be maintained in confidence, with appropriate and effective control measures, and penalties for violation as provided by law. Regulations and procedures imposed by government agencies and nongovernment insurers should include provisions which are consistent with this basic right (Board of Councilors, p 59, A-94; reaffirmed BOC Rep. 3-A-04; reaffirmed BOC Rep. 6-A-14).
