45.006 Blood Assurance Programs


Blood Assurance Programs: While blood assurance programs may have had a place in the past, their usefulness currently is limited, particularly because of the complications they impose on reimbursement. Consequently, the Texas Medical Association suggests that the decision to implement these programs be left to individual blood providers and the hospitals they serve (Committee on Blood Banking and Blood Transfusion, p 134, A-93; reaffirmed CM-BTU Rep. 2-A-03; amended CM-BTU Rep. 2-A-13).
