Keep Prescription Data Access Seamless

Don’t interrupt your access to the Texas Prescription Program (TPP). You may need to act today.

Here’s why: On Sept. 1, 2016, TPP will transfer from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) to the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP).

If you share an email address with another user in the program, you’ll need to change your email address by TODAY, Aug. 10, 2016, on your account on the Prescription Access in Texas website for the transition to be seamless for you, according to TSBP.

As part of the transition, TPP will move to new software. Your account will transfer automatically into the new software system — as long as you do not share an email address with another user.

Access the New System

Starting Sept. 1, you’ll no longer be able to log in to the Prescription Access in Texas website with your current login information. However, the automatic transfer means you’ll have access to the new system beginning that day. TSBP says you’ll receive an email on Sept. 1 that will include a short training tutorial on how to perform a query along with instructions for logging in. You do not need to register for a new account.

When you log into the new system for the first time, it will prompt you to update your profile information. Missing or incorrect demographic information (e.g., address or phone number) on your Prescription Access in Texas profile will not prevent your account from being preloaded.

Note also:

  • TBSP says there will be a delay in prescription history of up to two weeks during the transition.
  • Starting Sept. 1, TSBP will begin receiving orders for official prescription pads for Schedule II controlled substances. DPS will stop accepting orders for the pads on Aug. 15. However, official prescription forms that DPS issued before Sept. 1 will be valid, according to TSBP.

If you have questions or concerns regarding how to make this change, call (844) 489-4767 (844-4TX-4PMP), Monday-Friday 7 am-7 pm (CT).
