The
Walk With a Doc concept is simple: Physicians organize walks in their
communities and invite their patients and their patients’ families to join
them. Walk With a Doc is overseen by a national
nonprofit organization whose mission is to encourage healthy physical activity
in people of all ages, and reverse the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle to
help improve people’s health and well-being.
This is Smith
County Medical Society’s second year hosting the Walk With a Doc Texas program,
with walks every Thursday evening. At each walk, Dr.
Mitchell and her colleagues address different health topics and answer
questions. This week’s featured speaker is Walk With a Doc founder and CNN Hero David Sabgir, MD, who
will speak about the many benefits of walking.
This
is a FREE program, and preregistration is not required. Future walks will be
announced via the Walk With a Doc website.
