A Doctor’s Touch by Abraham Verghese, MD
Sponsored by Texas Medical Liability Trust

Modern medicine is in danger of losing a powerful, old fashioned tool: the human touch. Physician and writer Dr. Verghese describes our strange new world where patients are merely  data points, and calls for a return to the traditional one-on-one physical exam. As founding director of the Center for Medical Humanities & Ethics at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, he brings deep-seated empathy for patient suffering honed by experience to his new role in the medical humanities.

5-6 pm
Welcome Reception Sponsored by Texas Medical Liability Trust
