Pediatric Pain and Opioid Education

The course provides training in acute and chronic pain management for pediatric patients, with an emphasis on safe and effective opioid use. It has been reviewed and approved by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine.  The course offers 5.5 continuing education, risk management and/or MOC part II credits for physicians, nurses and pharmacists and satisfies the required pain management training for licensure renewal in Massachusetts. A non-accredited version of this course is also available free of charge on our website. 

The course author and organizer is Dr. David Casavant, a member of the Massachusetts Chapter of the AAP and member of the Massachusetts Medical Society Opioid Task Force. Dr. Casavant is also an Associate in Perioperative Anesthesia, Pain Medicine and Critical Care Medicine at Boston Children's Hospital and Instructor of Anesthesia at Harvard Medical School.
