Don't lose out on your Medicare or Medicaid incentive payment for meaningful use of an electronic health record (EHR). For physicians who qualify, reaching meaningful use can mean up to $63,750 in incentives from Medicaid or $44,000 from Medicare.
Turn to TMA's Meaningful Use Achievement Toolkit for detailed instructions about what you must do, specific to your EHR product, to meet any one of the 25 meaningful-use criteria defined by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The tool explains each objective and includes screenshots or video demonstrations of four popular EHR products – e-MDs, GE/Centricity, Greenway Medical, and NextGen.
If your EHR isn't listed, turn to one of the four Texas regional extension centers (RECs). Texas RECs can help you select, implement, and meaningfully use your EHR so you can receive your incentives. Visit the Texas REC Resource Center on the TMA website for details regarding eligibility and services.
Call the HIT Helpline at (800) 880-5720 or e-mail HIT with questions about the toolkit or other meaningful use issues.
