2019 Legislative Preview Tele-Town Hall Meeting

TMA President Doug Curran, MD, conducted a series of regional Tele-Town Hall meetings this fall in preparation for the 2019 Texas Legislature. Members of the Council on Legislation, TEXPAC leadership, county medical society leaders, and TMA public affairs and communication staff assisted.

At each of the five meetings, Dr. Curran and his associates laid out the broad outlines of TMA’s 2019 legislative agenda and asked physicians on the calls for their suggestions, questions, comments, and concerns. Each call covered Medicaid, access to care, and graduate medical education; health insurance reform; public health; and scope of practice, the Texas Medical Board, and corporate practice of medicine.

If you missed the calls, you can listen to the recordings below.
