TMA Physicians Award Exceptional Science Teachers - 06/15/2020

As physicians, epidemiologists, and health care workers lead the fight against a global pandemic, the Texas Medical Association (TMA) named nine Texas science teachers winners of its 2020 Ernest and Sarah Butler Awards for Excellence in Science Teaching. This program year marks the 30th anniversary of the awards, designed to motivate teachers to inspire future doctors and scientists.


Recognize an Outstanding Science Teacher With a TMA Grant - 11/26/2019

Nominate a Gifted Texas Science Teacher Who Deserves Recognition - 10/24/2017

TMA is giving away $24,000 in cash prizes. Help spread the word. Three Texas science teachers will receive $5,000 each and an all-expense paid trip to TexMed 2017 in Houston for the award ceremony. Their schools will receive a $2,000 award to use for the science curriculum. Second-place winners receive $1,500 and another $1,000 for their schools.


TMA Physicians Honor Outstanding Science Teachers - 05/16/2016

TMA named six Texas science teachers as winners of the 2016 TMA Ernest and Sarah Butler Awards for Excellence in Science Teaching. TMA awarded three first-place prizes at TexMed 2016 in Dallas. Three second-place awards will be presented in upcoming local ceremonies.
