TMA/H-E-B Collaboration on Hard Hats for Little Heads - 02/25/2020

The Texas Medical Association and H-E-B have a history of working together to improve the health of all Texans. In 2012, this collaboration expanded when two H-E-B stores welcomed the TMA Hard Hats for Little Heads program to their Second Saturday in-store health events. Based on these successful pilots, TMA hopes to increase the number of collaborative events in 2013 and beyond.


Four Texas Communities Receive Vaccination Grants - 02/18/2020

Four communities across Texas will receive disease-preventing and potentially life-saving vaccinations, thanks to Texas Medical Association’s (TMA’s) Be Wise —ImmunizeSM program. TMA recently awarded $7,600 in grants to physicians, medical students, and TMA Alliance (TMAA) chapters (comprising physician volunteers and their spouses), to provide free and low-cost vaccinations to uninsured and underinsured Texans in their hometowns.

TMA Grant to Help San Antonians Fight Flu - 02/18/2020

Underserved patients at various San Antonio clinics will receive influenza vaccines thanks to a grant from the Texas Medical Association’s (TMA’s) Be Wise — ImmunizeSM program. TMA recently awarded the TMA Chapter at UT Health San Antonio’s Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine the funds to provide 150 free flu shots for patients at five student-run clinics. Vaccines will be given weekly through the end of January.

Be Like This Belton Clinic – Boost Flu Shots in Your Community - 02/07/2020

A Belton health clinic that serves uninsured Bell County residents more than doubled the number of flu shots given last year thanks to a Local Impact Grant provided through the Texas Medical Association’s Be Wise – ImmunizeSM program. The clinic was able to give 160 adults flu shots with the grant funding, compared with 70 given during the 2018-19 flu season.
