    • General Session: A Doctor's Touch

      Fri., May 17, 3:30-5 pm

Modern medicine is in danger of losing a powerful, old fashioned tool: the human touch.
Physician and writer Dr. Verghese describes our strange new world where patients are merely data points, and calls for a return to the traditional one-on-one physical exam. As founding director of the Center for Medical Humanities & Ethics at The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, he brings deep-seated empathy for patient suffering honed by experience to his new role in the medical humanities.

TexMed 2013 offers more than 100 hours of FREE continuing medical education programming. From leadership development skills and business operations to quality initiatives and performance improvement, TexMed offers multidisciplinary programming that encourages cross-specialty dialogue.

Earn up to a $1,000 professional liability discount from the Texas Medical Liability Trust for completion of at least 2.5 hours of approved CME tracks.
