  • The Authors

    Peggy Pringle, BS, CMPE, serves as director of TMA Practice Consulting. Her more than 25 years of diverse health care experience includes business development, marketing, staff recruitment and training, and new practice setups. She holds a BS in management and marketing from Houston Baptist University and is a certified medical practice executive through the Medical Group Management Association.

    Laura Palmer, BS, FACMPE, is a practice management consultant with more than 25 years’ experience. She has managed urgent care, endocrinology, occupational, family, and internal medicine practices. Her expertise includes staff recruitment, business development, and managed care contracting. She has worked in the hospital setting, multispecialty large groups, diagnostic manufacturing sector, and reference laboratories. Laura holds a BS in medical technology from Michigan State University and is a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives as well as a certified medical practice executive through the Medical Group Management Association.

    Heather Bettridge, BA, CPC, CPMA, is a practice management consultant with more than 10 years’ experience in health care. Her expertise includes practice operations, human resource management, coding and documentation audits, financial analysis, and new practice setups. She holds a BA from The University of Texas at Austin and is certified as a professional coder as well as a professional medical auditor by the American Academy of Professional Coders. 

    Meredith Whitten, MPAff, MSc, has more than 18 years of broad-based experience in writing and editing, research, policy analysis and consulting. She has written for local, national and international publications ranging from magazines to employee newsletters to websites. She also worked as a policy analyst for the Texas Sunset Advisory Commission, where she led reviews of several professional health care licensing boards, including the Texas Medical Board. Meredith holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in public affairs from the University of Texas at Austin, and a master’s degree in regional and urban planning from the London School of Economics. Currently, she is working on a doctoral degree in regional planning at the LSE.
