On Thursday, Nov. 19, many Americans will try to kick their cigarette habit during the Great American Smokeout. TMA offers a new toolkit so you can help your patients successfully give up smoking, and you can earn continuing medical education (CME) credit.
TMA brings you the American Medical Association Healthier Life Steps TM program. The comprehensive toolkit offers practical and easy-to-use resources (such as patient questionnaires, action plans, and progress calendars) for making positive lifestyle changes.
The program focuses on healthy eating, increasing physical activity, quitting smoking, and reducing risky drinking.
Healthier Life Steps program materials are free for physicians and patients, courtesy of TMA and AMA. You can earn up to 1 hour of AMA PRA Category 1 CME Credit TM by completing the CME in the physician guide.
For more information, e-mail TMA Outreach Coordinator or call (800) 880-1300, ext. 1470, or (512) 370-1470.
