Treatments That Work; Free Facts From TMA

Keywords: Quality_of_Care

Newsweek writer Sharon Begley has written "A Science Fact Check," about why it makes sense to study which treatments work and which don't. This article highlights the Cochrane Collection, one of the world's largest collections of volunteer scientists and physicians.

Based on the best available information about health care interventions, Cochrane reviews explore the evidence for and against the effectiveness and appropriateness of treatments (medications, surgery, education, etc.) in specific circumstances.

The TMA Knowledge Center provides the Cochrane Controlled Trials Register and the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews as a free membership benefit.
