Heard from HRI?

Have you received a letter from Health Research Insights (HRI) saying it has analyzed your claims information and it is demanding recoupment of overpayments caused by incorrect claims? If so, contact Erin Gregorcyk in TMA's Payment Advocacy Department.

Large, self-insured companies are hiring HRI to examine their employees' claims for payment errors. The company's actions created controversy in Tennessee, and TMA is trying to determine the extent of the company's activities, if any, in Texas.

Tennessee Medical Association officials in March warned its members about the HRI letters and asked them to contact its legal department if they had questions or wanted to file a complaint with employers that use HRI's services. Tennessee physicians say the company has an incentive to target doctors because it gets a share of any money it recovers.
