TMA’s Be Wise — ImmunizeSM program helps you protect children in your community from vaccine-preventable illnesses, such as whooping cough. During August, National Immunization Month, Be Wise is encouraging physicians and medical students to help educate parents about the importance of properly vaccinating their children.

Here are several ways you can get involved in the Be Wise program:

  • Place TMA's Be Wise posters and educational materials in patient waiting and exam rooms, schools, and other public areas for parents.
  • Sponsor a booth at your local health fair and distribute TMA's Be Wise educational material on the importance of vaccinations.
  • Host a free or low-cost shot clinic in your community after hours or on the weekend.

E-mail Tammy Wishard, TMA's outreach coordinator, or call her at (800) 880-1300, ext. 1470, or (512) 370-1470 for suggestions and assistance.

Be Wise — Immunize is a registered service mark of the Texas Medical Association.
