Bike Month in May is a perfect time for physicians and medical students to spread awareness of helmet safety statewide. You can be part of this exciting effort by joining with TMA's bike helmet giveaway program, Hard Hats for Little Heads, to sponsor a helmet giveaway in your community.
By focusing events during Bike Month, TMA can promote the enormous helmet giveaway effort to media across the state and encourage journalists to cover local Hard Hats for Little Heads events. Last year, we had 13 events during May, and we want to increase that number to at least 30 this year for greater impact.
For each event, TMA provides up to 50 free helmets with a matching purchase. We provide educational materials in English and Spanish to help make your event a success. A video showing proper helmet fit also is available, as well as a helmet safety poster to post at your event, in schools, and at other locations where children gather.
