Physicians' influence in the political process was felt again in the March 4 primary election as 25 of the 36 candidates endorsed by the Texas Medical Association Political Action Committee (TEXPAC) won their races.
One of those winners was Fort Worth pediatric infectious disease specialist Mark Shelton, MD, who captured the Republican nomination in House District 97 without a runoff. He will face a Democrat in November.
Early voting for April 8 runoff elections is March 31 through April 4.
