What should you do if you hear from the Texas Medical Board (TMB)? The Texas Medical Liability Trust (TMLT) can tell you.
TMLT has scheduled three-hour continuing medical education (CME) seminars in Austin and Houston in April. The seminar, "You've Received a Letter from the Texas Medical Board. What's next?," will be at the Austin Renaissance Hotel on April 15, and the Houston Marriott Medical Center on April 23. Dinner begins at 6 pm and the program runs from 6:30 to 9:30 pm.
Completing the program will allow you to:
· Define the TMB's authority and jurisdiction,
· Evaluate previous practices and complaints that led to TMB investigations,
· Describe potential consequences of TMB investigations, and
· List the steps to maximize proper legal representations during TMB investigations.
TMLT says the program is designed for all physicians interested in reducing the potential for liability. You can register in the CME section of the TMLT Web site.
