Leadership for Changing Times

Free registration to TMA conferences is one of the many benefits of TMA membership. Invited guests also may attend the conference at no charge. The fee for nonmember physicians is $125. Chip Heath, the co-author of the book Made to Stick: Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Die, has been a New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and BusinessWeek bestseller. Mr. Heath will share insights into his new book which talks about how difficult change is in our organizations, our careers, and our lives — why change is so hard, and how can we overcome resistance to make change happen.

While high-quality, affordable care for every American is the major goal of health care reform, demographic trends indicate that blacks, Hispanics and Asians receive poorer quality of care regardless of insurance status. By the year 2050, it is estimated that nearly one in two Americans will be a member of a racial or ethnic minority. This session will address how policymakers are addressing this daunting challenge and provide a forum to discuss the barriers facing physicians and patients in minority communities.

County Medical Society Leadership Forum (by invitation only)
