CollectiveMed.com at www.collectivemed.com is "owned and operated by healthcare professionals for healthcare professionals," sells medically related hardware, software and accessories, and has a minimal number of free downloadable databases. Also included is a "Buyers Guides" feature, with advice on how to select the right PDA.

Doctors Gadgets at www.doctorsgadgets.com provides medical handheld computer and software resources for doctors, medical students, and healthcare professionals.

ectopicbrain: Palm OS Handhelds in Clinical Practice at http://pbrain.hypermart.net "has been designed to serve as a starting point for physicians who are interested in exploring the potential of PalmTM handheld computers in clinical practice." Includes a comprehensive listing of helpful links to commercial, educational and specialty sites for PDA users.

eMedicine.com, Inc . at www.emedicine.com is an online journal of articles on medical topics, indexed by specialty. Textbooks are available for purchase and downloading onto PDAs.The Disaster and Trauma PDA ebook is currently available for free downloading to registered eMedicine users.

ePhysician, Inc . at www.ephysician.com sells software that allows the physician to use a PDA for prescribing medication, accessing drug information, and scheduling and billing patients.

ePocrates, Inc . at www.epocrates.com has free downloadable databases on drug information, including a MultiCheck feature that allows the user to check drug interactions. Very popular with users, but dont expect it to remain free!

Handango at www.handango.com bills itself as the "leading publisher of mobile software." The First Time Buyer Recommendations and the Tutorials sections on its homepage would be helpful for the beginning PDA user.

Handspring at www.handspring.com sells its own line of handheld products (Visor handheld computers and Treo communicators), as well as downloadable software in a number of categories, including medical.

Healthy PalmPilot at www.healthypalmpilot.com has over 700 software resources available for download, many of them healthcare-related freeware and shareware. It is now a part of the pda.MD network(see below) and may also be accessed through their Web site.

Mdeverywhere, Inc. at www.mdeverywhere.com offers a core package of integrated services that allows physicians to use their PDAs for prescriptions, orders, charges and other applications to improve care and efficiency.

Mdtool.com at www.mdtool.com provides links to online medical resources, organized by specialty or subject. Also features PDA resources, a buying guide and links to free downloadable medical software for PDAs.

MedicalPocketPC.com at www.medicalpocketpc.com is aimed toward users of the MedicalPocket PC, providing news, articles, reviews, tutorials, and a source of medical software.

medspda.com at http://medspda.com is a resource for downloadable software, as well as hardware and accessories. This site offers tutorials, reviews of new products, and links to other PDA sites.

mobilePDR at www.pdr.net offers a free download of a concise version of the PDR® designed for use on a handheld device running either the Palm Operating System ® or Windows CE platforms for physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners via an online registration process.

Palm, Inc . at www.palm.com is the Web site of the company that introduced the Palm handhelds in 1996. A source for Palm products and software (much of it can be downloaded on a free trial basis), this site includes helpful step-by-step assistance for Palm users.

pda.MD.com at www.pdamd.com is a source for handhelds, software and accessories. Their website features PDA-related news articles, product reviews, buyers guides and tutorials.
