Medicare Enrollment Now Has 60-Day Lead Time

Good news: Physicians now can submit Medicare enrollment applications 30 days sooner than before. You may submit CMS-855 enrollment applications and Internet-based Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership System (PECOS) applications 60 days prior to the effective date (previously, it was 30 days prior).

To make enrollment easier, first visit the TrailBlazer Part B Getting Started webpage. Check out TrailBlazer’s list of common enrollment mistakes.

Once you’ve applied for enrollment, be sure to monitor your mail and faxes in case Trailblazer contacts you additional information needed to process your application. When you receive a tracking number from TrailBlazer, you then can monitor your application’s status online.
