HHSC Tools Aid EHR Participation

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) has two computer-based learning tools to help physicians and hospitals participate in the Texas Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program. The tools are interactive and self-guided with voice or closed-captioned narration.

Each module includes several self-guided lessons on the various topics of the program. You choose the topic and follow the lesson. The knowledge gained will come in handy for enrolling in the incentive program or for the second step toward payment – attesting to meaningful use.

Because the two modules are Internet-based, you do not need to download anything to your computer. Just click the button and begin. You may stop whenever you want and start again when you have the time or need to learn about a particular topic.

Physicians can earn up to $63,750 in bonuses over a six-year period.
