The POEP strives to educate primary care physicians about the state-of-the-art and science in cancer prevention, screening, early detection, and control, including the physician role in educating patients about behavior modification to facilitate the primary prevention and early detection of cancer. To this end, the POEP has developed a number of cancer education resources and clinical tools for the practicing physician. These materials and tools have been designed by physicians and cancer experts to enhance the primary care physician’s ability to prevent cancer and appropriately screen for the early detection of cancer.
