RAC Additional Documentation Request (ADR) Limits
The number of medical records that the Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) can request from a physician has finally been set. This means RACs can now begin to do complex reviews (the type that require medical records) on physicians. Previously, they weren’t allowed to do so until these limits had been established by CMS. Please note, the effective date is February 14, 2011.
