Medicare added the following place of service codes on Jan. 1, 2003. NOTE: Texas law requires commercial health plans to use the Medicare place of service codes; therefore, you should use these for all claims, as well as the existing codes, when appropriate.
The place of service is reported in field 24b of the CMS-1500 claim form.
