Topic Medicaid: EHR Incentive Attestation - 2012 Payment Year
Background Physicians participating in the Medicaid EHR incentive program are eligible for $63,750 in incentive payments over six years of program participation. Physicians must attest every year.
Regulating Body CMS
Compliance Date 3/16/2013
Consequences This program ends in 2021. Physicians are alllowed to "skip" years in the Medicaid EHR incentive program in achieving a total of 6 years of incentive payments. This means if you miss the deadline this year, you can apply next year. The last year to participate and receive all 6 years of incentive payments will be 2016.
Next Steps Attest to program participation. If this is your first year to participate, you only have to attest to using a certified electronic health record (EHR). If this is your second year of participation, then you must attest to meaningful use of your EHR.
